Omaha (KPTM) - Anti-abortion advocates are stepping up their efforts against a Bellevue abortion clinic.
Today members of local and national groups announced they've delivered three sworn affidavits to Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning.
They say they detail former employees' accounts of illegal, improper and unsafe activity at the practice of doctor Leroy Carhart.
The clinic drew protestors on both sides of the abortion debate last week because Carhart plans to continue the work of a murdered Kansas doctor who offered third trimester abortions.
Anti-abortion leaders are calling for a full-scale criminal investigation into Carhart and ask that his medical license be revoked. Activists also say non-licensed staff members are illegally administering medication.
The attorney general's office won't say whether Carhart is being investigated, but says every allegation of illegal activity by a nebraskan is taken seriously.
Previously Carhart has dismissed such allegations as entirely inaccurate.
