OMAHA (KPTM) - The brother of the man shot by an off-duty Omaha police officer early Sunday morning was booked Tuesday morning at the Douglas County Department of Corrections for criminal mischief.
During the investigation, it was discovered that 28-year Adrien D. Butler was responsible for damaging a window at Cheaters Bar at about 12:45 Sunday morning. Adrien is the brother of Armando Butler, who was shot in the leg as he and his brother left in their vehicle.
Adrien was arrested today after being released from protective custody. Police say he was waiting to be interviewed by police on Sunday when he attempted to harm himself. Officers immediately called for a rescue squad. He was transported by rescue squad to the hospital and evaluated.
Adrien Butler was found to be under the influence of illegal drugs and a threat to himself. He was placed in Emergency Protective Custody.
Police say they are learning more information from witnesses who have called in since Sunday.
