
Omaha (KPTM) -It's a sprint to the finish up more than 40 flights of stairs.
The annual 'Trek Up the Tower' took thousands of eager runners up the steps of the First National Bank building this morning.
Folks may have started off with a sprint on the ground level, but most of them had slowed to a walk by the time they reached the 40th floor.
Local firefighters and police officers also hit the steps to help train, and stay in shape.
The race benefits the Wellness Council of the Midlands.
More than 1,200 runners showed up from ten different states.
