OMAHA (KPTM)- A locally owned pharmacy makes plans expand.
Those plans involve tearing down Sheri's Go-Go Club, remembered by many Omahans as the Walking Cane Bar.
Sheri's Night Club has been around for almost 20-years.
On a good night, Manager Marty Nollett tells us they see over 100 people walk through the doors.
It was in October that Sheri's went up for sale, after they say they weren't making enough money.
Locally owned Kohll's Pharmacy and Homecare has been the night club's neighbor for years.
Kohll's bought the building, and has big plans to expand parking and build bigger.
Kohll's owner David Kohll, tells us they plan to increase street appeal and help to improve the image of the neighborhood with plush landscaping and by adding a new facade to the current Kohll's Pharmacy building.
"It'll enhance the neighborhood and more people will come in and feel welcome in here," said Kohll.
President of the Leavenworth Neighborhood Association Jim Thompson said he thinks the plans for expanding are good ones.
"They're wonderful," he said.
Kohll told Fox 42 Sheri's will be demolished as early as September 2011.
In the meantime, the night club is gearing up for their 20th Anniversary celebration which will be held Friday, February 11 at 9:00 PM.
