Amanda Mueller started performing the duties of main anchor for the KPTM FOX 42 News in March 2007. Amanda was previously the weekend anchor here at KPTM for the past three years. She also filled many roles at our sister station NTV/KHGI in Kearney, Nebraska, including main anchor since 2001.
Before NTV, Amanda worked at what could quite possibly be the smallest television station in the country in Jackson Hole, Wyoming as an anchor/reporter. She did every job imaginable there, including keeping tabs on part-time resident Dick Cheney's visits, to getting behind the control and directing several morning news segments.
Amanda says that some of the more memorable stories she has covered in her time at KPTM include the devastation left behind by the Hallam tornado and investigating the treatment and regulation of sex offenders in Nebraska.
Amanda is a tennis volunteer with the Special Olympics of Nebraska, a member of Omaha's Delta Gamma Alumni group and says she is excited about becoming a Big Sister with the Big Brother's/Big Sisters of the Midlands.
Amanda says that she is very excited about partnering with
Her Magazine on a new series about women's issues that will air Wednesday nights on the KPTM FOX 42 News at Nine, called Women Matter.
For fun, Amanda plays USTA League Tennis, snowboards, exercises regularly and plays golf.
Amanda was born and raised in Naples, Florida, and graduated with a degree in Mass Communications from the University of Denver.
