It may seem like your typical yoga class. For the most part it is but, at the end it's your mind that's getting stretched.You've probably heard yoga can be relaxing. Now a group of Omaha business women are taking that idea a step farther. They've started a new type of yoga right here in Omaha that not only stretches your body, but your mind too.
It may seem like your typical yoga class. For the most part it is but, at the end it's your mind that's getting stretched. It's called Hyp-Yoga and combines yoga and hypnosis into one class. Hyp-Yoga founder Kim Isherwood says, "everyone wants to tend to focus on their hips when the major problem is usually in your head." That's why the mind is such a big part of Hyp-Yoga. The founders say if you imagine your ideal body, it will become a reality. Hyp-Yoga founder Becky Grabner says, "being hypnotized is a great way to get a habit quicker. It usually takes twenty days to get a habit and if you have hypnosis you can cut that way down."
The idea is the brain child of three Omaha women. Carly Cummings, Becky Grabner and Kim Isherwood started the business. So far, it's going much farther than the city limits. Kim Isherwood says, "the sky is the limit for us we are just doing amazingly well." The hype over Hyp-Yoga has spread to gyms all over town. The ladies even shot a dvd and nationwide franchises are in the works. It's a dream these Omaha women always envisioned. Becky Grabner says, "I always wanted to sell something I felt good about and I have never been as excited about something as this."
