Omaha (KPTM) - A Sarpy County daycare is closed while police investigate charges of possible felony child neglect. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services issued an emergency order to suspend the child care license of Blasé Echols.
According to the motion filed by DHHS, "emergency orders are issued when it is necessary to protect the immediate physical well-being and safety of a child in a child care program."
Police say Terra Blasé Echols ran a child care center near 144th and Harrison street where a 2-year-old child recieved second-degree burns due to hot water.
The Sarpy County Attorney also says there was evidence the child's hands were restrained when it happened. Health and Human Services have warned the day care provider about the water being too hot.
Blasé-Echols will be in court later this month to face felony charges.
