OMAHA (KPTM) - Sunday's weather left a mess on the roads and a chill in the air, but it didn't keep most people from getting to their destinations.
You could barely read the sign from the street, but this Palm Sunday, many people refused to let Mother Nature keep them from the pews. "It's kind of unpleasant especially for April, but certainly nothing restrictive," said Rick Zaiss.
"Mostly sloppy and messy," said one driver. "Little wet but not too bad, not slick or anything like that as long as you drive safely," added Joseph Schaaf.
Road conditions were also not an obstacle for Becky Aschinger. "I just feel like I should be here," she said.
Aschinger greets parishioners at First Central Congregational Church. "I'm pretty good about staying in when the weather is bad, but it wasn't freezing," she said.
Up the street, both young and old filed into First Unitarian Church. "You go with the boots, you go with the gloves, and you've got extra scarves and things just in case it's worse than you thought it was," said Barb Ross.
Still snow... in April? "Certainly would have been nicer to not wear the coat that's for sure," Schaaf said.
But many say around here, you have to be ready for whatever weather comes our way. "You learn to live with it and most of us do and get on with our lives, we still have things to do," Zaiss said. "It's Nebraska, it's fine. It'll be gone tomorrow or the next day," Ross added.
Many people told KPTM if it's going to snow in April, they're glad it was this Sunday and not Easter Sunday.
