A Lincoln Family Reacts After Freak Accident Kills a Grandmother

Omaha (KPTM) -A Lincoln family is reeling tonight after a freak accident claims the life of their grandmother.

81-year-old Helen Hindmand was inside the Edgewater Hotel-Casino outside Las Vegas Wednesday, when a Pontiac came crashing through the casino.

The lifelong Nebraskan was one of two people killed in the bizarre accident.

Nine others were seriously hurt.

Her family says Hindmand was spending the winter in Arizona and was up in Nevada on a bus tour.

Hindmand leaves behind four children, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Las Vegas police say the driver of the car may have fainted behind the wheel.
