KPTM (Omaha) - After being submerged under flood water for months, and nearly two million dollars in repairs later, NP Dodge Marina is set to re-open this Friday at 3:30pm.
"We've basically got all the docks back in their up right position, all new ramps, new electrical, new plumbing and we're looking to open up at 3:30 on Friday," says Brook Bench the Omaha Parks Maintenance Officer.
Bench says that the rebuilding process wasn't easy, just six months ago the Marina parking lot was still completely under water.
"All of these were replaced these are all brand new, all the electrical is new, all the plumbing is new, there are pieces of the roof that are new," adds Bench.
Bench says that unfortunately they had to raise the price of each boat slip this year due to all the expensive repairs that were needed. Bench says that at first people were a little upset, but once they heard that all the repairs were going to cost around two million dollars, most of their complaints went away.
The marina is the only area of NP Dodge Park that will open this year. Bench says that they hope to have the camping area and baseball diamonds ready for next spring.
For now boaters say that they are just happy to finally get out on the water again this Friday.
