Snow Storm Good News for Plow Drivers

Clark Young

OMAHA(KPTM)-- Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning and you know what that means: six more weeks of winter! This weekend is promising to bring them in in style.

KPTM's meteorologist, Pat Walker, is calling for a mix of rain and snow coming after midnight Friday with three to five inches sticking on the ground. Even more is possible during the day on Saturday.

A lot of people have been stocking up on food and snow shovels in preparation for the storm, but one Omaha man says he can't wait.

Paul Soby has been plowing snow for about 28 years and says the lack of snow this winter has really hurt his business.

"I'm starting to feel a little pinch in the wallet now," he said. "It's only February so we've got time,"

Soby's been busy making sure all five of his plow trucks are ready for the weekend.

"Sleep's gonna be the last thing I'm thinking about, maybe a couple cat naps in the parking lots so I'm not doing zig zags," he said.

With the snow moving across the state this weekend, the Red Cross says to make sure your home and car are still winterized and keep your winter jacket handy even inside in case of a power outage.
