OMAHA (KPTM) -- An Omaha Mom who battled a homeowners association over a basketball hoop has won a slam dunk victory in court.
"You can call it a slam dunk, a free throw...we got done what we needed to get done," said Jill Lewis.
Last year, she put up a basketball hoop outside her house but the Merrifield Village Homeowners Association ordered her to take it down.
Lewis rallied her fellow homeowners and the fight played out in District Court today. Judge Marlon Polk sided with Lewis.
Scott Jochim, attorney for the homeowners association, said Polk's ruling was "unfortunate." Jochim said it's too early to say if the association will appeal the judge's decision.
