
UPDATE: The owner of a Radio Shack in downtown Alliance who has been in the middle of the day-long standoff tells KPTM FOX 42 News the hostage has left the pharmacy holding his arm.
ALLIANCE (KPTM) - Two Alliance police officers and a trooper with the Nebraska State Patrol were shot Monday during a standoff that has lasted several hours. Police also found a separate murder scene they say is connected to the standoff.
It started just before 9am. City officials say a man, who was heavily armed, was leaving a pharmacy following a robbery when he was confronted by police.
An officer was shot in the arm, and is expected to be OK.
A perimeter was set up, the Nebraska State Patrol joined officers and the Patrol's SWAT team arrived soon after.
One trooper in the SWAT team was shot, he is also expected to be fine.
Several hours after the standoff began, a second police officer was shot. He is also expected to be fine.
During the standoff, police found a murder scene near Alliance they say is related to the standoff. One person was found shot to death.
