VALLEY (KPTM) - When you drop something in a lake, you might think you've lost it forever. But sometimes things come back to you.
One Omaha man found that out when a dive team helped save a pair of sunglasses that came with a lifetime of memories.
Jamie Lundeby was hanging out with friends over Memorial Day when he got knocked in the water. His brother's sunglasses were lost in the lake near Valley.
"They were a gift to my brother from my step dad before he passed away a couple of months ago, he said."
So Lundeby turned to Facebook to see if someone could help him find it at the bottom of the lake. He posted on the Greater Omaha SCUBA Dive Club's page.
"They responded really quickly, within 10 minutes of my post on Facebook," he said.
The team, with the help of Connie Springer, was able to dig the glasses out of the lake on Sunday.
"Jamie had quite a great reaction when we came up with the sunglasses," Springer said.
"They are angels in the water man, they truly are," Lundeby said, "and I was able to get back something that meant a great deal to me."
