OMAHA (KPTM)- Drivers had to avoid the Kennedy Freeway Thursday afternoon after a truck carrying cattle rolled over.
Police say several cows escaped after a truck crashed on Highway 75 between L street and Q street. The truck driver wasn't injured. The truck was carrying 60 cows. About a dozen escaped. Police haven't said how many were killed or had to be put down.
Both lanes were closed for hours while police searched for cows and transferred other cows to another truck.
Southbound lanes have reopened. Bellevue Police said northbound lanes were open as well.
