Posted: Updated:

OMAHA (KPTM) - The Nuclear Regulatory Commission heads to Omaha July 17th to meet with OPPD officials on the status of the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant.

Fort Calhoun was taken offline in 2011 just before the Missouri River started to flood the facility.

OPPD has been working to bring Fort Calhoun back online since the floodwaters went away.

The July meeting will be public, and held in the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Omaha. That meeting will be held Tuesday, July 17th from 6-9pm.
