OMAHA (KPTM)- Nationally, fire work sales are down this year. Firework sales are the lowest since the 1970s.
"Sales have actually been pretty sluggish," said Subby Anzalone. Anzalone is running a stand near 60th and Grover.
"Vendors are going to see that they're going to have to stay open a little bit later this year," said Anzalone.
The Schow family picked up their fireworks on the day of the fourth. "I like to watch the kids get excited about this stuff," said John Schow.
Anzalone said he hopes that shoppers will get more excited, and come back to the tent before the holiday is up. "We've seen shoppers from a pack of firecrackers for 99 cents to shoppers that will come in and spend 1200 dollars."
