LINCOLN (KPTM)- One man is dead and another seriously injured after a shootout in Lincoln.

Police said it all started when a man's eight year old son was hit by a car in the street where he was lighting off fireworks.

Police arrested 23-year-old Robert Robinson Wednesday night after the boy's father accused  Robinson of hitting his son. Police said 41-year-old Orlando Sifuentez searched the area for the driver who sped off after the accident. He found the car parked at home a few blocks away.

Police said Robinson denied being involved in the crash. The said Sifuentez and 18-year-old Matthew Guerra made threats to Robinson and members of a group they were with started shooting at Robinson's home. Police said Robinson got his gun and shot back.

Sifuentez was killed. Guerra was taken to the hospital with a gunshot to his leg. He's expected to be okay.

Robinson has been charged in the crash, but not the shooting.
