Father and Son Shot and Killed in South Omaha

OMAHA (KPTM) - Omaha police are investigating the city's latest murders.

Police say it happened at a home near 9th and Bancroft Streets just before 4am. A man and his two sons were shot at their home. Police said Miguel Avalos Sr was pronounced dead at the scene.

His son, 16-year-old Jose Avalos was also killed. His brother, Miguel Avalos Jr is listed in critical condition.

Dale Cress lives in the area of the shooting. He tells Fox 42 this isn't the first shooting in the area. And it is making for an unsafe area to live.

"Oh it has its good days and its bad days but the last few months it has been bad," he said.
