OMAHA (KPTM)- Two Men will go to trial for killing an Omaha man and two of his sons.

33-year old Anthony Davis and 25- year old Timothy Britt are charged with killing 44- year old Miguel Avalos, 18-year old Miguel Avalos Jr. and 16- Year old Jose Avalos. They were killed by gunshots to the head.

Police say Davis and Britt broke into the Avalos home near 9th and Bancroft to steal drugs and cash. Investigators say they may have chosen to rob Avalos because of a tip given to them by Greg Logemann, an informant for the Omaha Police Department.

Investigators say that Logemann  bought drugs from Avalos. They say Avalos may have stopped dealing to him when he suspected Logemann was an informant.

Attorneys also said that Avalos may have had relations with Logemann's wife, suggesting that there may have been a motive to send the men to Avalos' home for personal reasons.

Investigators said that Logemann told Davis that Avalos' home would also be easy to rob. They say Logemann even pointed out Avalos' house to the men. Logemann told the men would most likely be the only one home. Instead, Davis and Britt walked into a home full of 6 people. There were 3 people that they shot, but also 3 others hiding in the basement. Attorneys suggest they may have panicked when they saw more company than they expected, and shot their guns.

Friends of the men tell investigators that the men think the robbery was a set up.

In court Wednesday, friends and family spoke up about hearing new details that led to the death of their family. "Whatever the guys wanted, it still didn't give them the right to take the three lives they did," said Sandra Martinez.

Friends worry more family could have been in the house that night. Two of the children were not home.

Police say Logemann is on the run. He is wanted for conspiring to commit a robbery, but faces no charges related to the shootings. They say he was part of a narcotics investigation. Now he is accused of sharing that information with the men.

27- year old Tiatta Clairday has also been charged as an accessory to the murder by lying to police. Investigators say she picked Davis up the morning after the shooting and may have known more information.
