OMAHA (KPTM)- Michael Schmeeckle has a ring on his hand, which he said, links directly to his heart. "I miss her awesome smile, her personality."
Schmeeckle's misses 33-year-old Stacy Hauser. Hauser and Schmeeckle married in their church back in September 2008.
"She will always be my love," said Schmeeckle.
"I love that beautiful smile and glow that she had," said Schmeeckle, while looking at Hauser's photograph. "You could see the stars in her eyes as they sparkled."
Hauser had a life full of joy and love; a life cut off too soon.
"(I was) happy that I was there for here, with her, during the last moments of her life," said Schmeeckle.
Hauser was riding her new motorcycle near 64th and Military Avenue Thursday, August 30th. Police said Hauser lost control of her bike and veered into oncoming traffic. Schmeeckle was following her home from work in his car, and saw the whole thing.
"I was with her, by her side," remembered Schmeeckle. "I love you-Kittty-Stacey. I'm here for you, I love you. She looked at me and said, I love you."
Schmeeckle said he saw the light he loved in Hauser's eyes go dim. "It was like almost the doors of heaven were opening up to bring her home."
Schmeeckle said, though she may not be by his side-she's still there. "As we both believe in very strongly, life is the greatest adventure, go live it."
Schmeeckle said it's an adventure he won't have to go at alone. "She's not here physically with me, but she's here in my heart."
