Brandon Kamphaus was last seen Friday morning.UPDATE: FREMONT (KPTM) - The Fremont Police Department says the 16-year-old boy who was missing since Friday has been found dead.
Search crews found 16-year-old Brandon Kamphaus' body Sunday in Fremont.
Kamphaus never came home from school Friday. His friends and family spent the weekend looking for him.
They were concerned because Kamphaus was diabetic.
Dozens of people Sunday started with one goal—to find Brandon Kamphaus who, at the time of the search, was still missing.
"This is the worst thing that you can get, knowing that you don't even know where your kid is," said Ronnie Felter who was Kamphaus' neighbor. "You're trying your hardest to find out where he's at. It's hard."
Felter was one of the many volunteers who canvassed the Fremont area.
Around 3:30 p.m. police confirmed Kamphaus' body was found about 150 yards from where they ended their search on Saturday.
An autopsy is scheduled Monday.
Brandon's father released a statement:
"Thank you all for the prayers, support, texts, calls and most of all, love. Keep the prayers coming. We're going to need them."
