Hundreds Turn Out to Hear Remarks from Vice President Joe Biden

Posted: Updated:

COUNCIL BLUFFS (KPTM)- People lined up early to hear Vice President Joe Biden speak to a sold out crowd of supporters at the Mid America Center in Council Bluffs.

The visit comes more than a week after early voting started in Iowa.

Vice President Biden is laying out the President's plan to continue to restore middle-class economic security.  . The President has already cut taxes for a typical Iowa family by $3,600 over four years, helping families afford to send their children to college, buy their first home, pay for health care and child care.

While Vice President Joe Biden was delivering a speech inside, Mitt Romney supporter were rallying outside.

Even though they couldn't hear the speech, they made sure they could be heard.

"Obama zero-Mitt one!" yelled Governor Romney supporters Thursday.

Whether they were telling or not, the couple dozen Mitt Romney supporters at the Vice President Biden speech had one message. "We agree with Vice President Joe Biden, the last for years have been horrible," said Don Blackford.

"Whether you're lower class, middle class, or upper class, we're all Americans and we're all hurting right now," said Blackford.

Blackford's answer to that hurt is simple, he said, "Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan."

Maggie Addkasson was another rallier. The 19-year-old is an education major at UNO. "A lot of my friends right now, they're looking for jobs, but they can't find any," said Addkasson.

It's her first rally for Mitt Romney, but she said she'll find the time to come to more. "The past four years, we've had changed, but it hasn't been in the right direction," said Mitt Romney.

And the direction these folks want… "Joe's gotta go!"
