COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA (KPTM) – A Council Bluffs family is mourning the loss of their son this week.

22-Year-Old Jamie Lee Schnider was shot and killed Thursday Night in Killeen, Texas. Schnider was stationed at Fort Hood.

Killeen police say Schnider was in an argument with a neighbor when he the neighbor shot him. A 21-year-old Fort Hood Soldier was also shot, whose name has not been released.

Fox 42 News Spoke with Jamie Lee's father, Jeff Schnider, he can't believe his son is gone.

"He's my son, my hero, he is my soldier and angel," he said.

Jeff told Fox 42 he hopes people stop shooting each other.

"How could you take a 22-year-old arguing, don't pull the triggers anymore, lay down the gun," he said.
