Small Business Owner Needs Big Votes

HONEY CREEK, IOWA (KPTM)- Small business owner, Janna Feldman, is on her way.

"This is my permit, so we can start construction!"

Feldman has goats, sheep, and a dream-to own her own dairy. "I checked yesterday and there's no other goat and sheep owner in the state of Iowa."

Feldman has all the animals she needs, but now she needs votes. She's competing in the Southwest Iowa "Dream Big, Grow Here" competition.  She's one of 32 competitors in Southwest Iowa.

"I've seen so many hurdles to go over, this is something that I feel like we're finally seeing the finish line," said Feldman.

A finish line-that comes with a $5,000 prize. "It feels incredible to know that we are actually going to physically start doing the work so that we have our own dairy."

The contest runs until Oct. 22.
