The FDA conducted a study of their own, and here, they found a minor tobacco alkaloid as the only potentially harmful ingredient in the e cig. Then again, this isn’t even toxic or carcinogenic. Despite this, however, they maintained that there are still a lot of unknown dangers to “vaping”.
To counter this claim, a team of researchers, headed by Professor Michael Siegel of the Boston University School of Public Health, conducted their own study. Here, they found that “Although the existing research does not warrant a conclusion that electronic cigarettes are safe in absolute terms and further clinical studies are needed to comprehensively assess the safety of electronic cigarettes, a preponderance of the available evidence shows them to be much safer than tobacco cigarettes and comparable in toxicity to conventional nicotine replacement products.”
The product is composed of electronic parts, which simulates the taste and feel of an actual tobacco cigarette. The main difference, however? It does not carry any of the harmful toxins and free radicals that may cause serious illnesses to the smoker.
Of course, there have been some concerns as to the safety of the e cigarettes as well. After all, the product is relatively new, and there are still a lot of studies required in order for it to be declared absolutely and a hundred percent safe for the users.
Thus, far, however, it appears that people who have actually used e cigs are, more than anything, happy at the changes brought about in their lives, thanks to the electric cigarettes. Like Nick above, they testify to the effectiveness of the product in helping them get back on the right track to the pink of health.
No longer are they bogged down by the chronic and infamous smoker’s cough. No longer are they wheezing in pain as they try to climb up several flights of stairs, or even go jogging around the block. Because these electric cigarettes emit vapor instead of smoke, their lungs get clearer and clearer with each passing day they say no to tobacco.
This water vapor feature is also the reason why this product is otherwise known as the smokeless cigarette, or the vapor cigarette. The question on whether or not this vapor is actually safe has been asked more than just a few several times already.
