OMAHA (KPTM)- A hunter was found dead west of Fremont Wednesday morning.
According to the Colfax County Attorney, 68-year-old LeRoy
Bird was found in the Platte River, just south of County Road 2 in Dodge
County. They also found his dog and overturned boat in the area.
Bird was last seen Tuesday morning at his home in North Bend. Authorities say
he left to go hunting in Rogers, Nebraska and never returned.
Foul play is not suspected in the case.
Bird is known around town for being the longtime owner of a steakhouse.
