Street Toyota-Scion has donated 450 pounds of food for the Amarillo High Plains Food Bank.
Amarillo, Texas (PRWEB) December 10, 2012
Street Toyota-Scion has ended their annual Canned Food Drive and this year they collected 450 pounds of food for the Amarillo High Plains Food Bank. Street Toyota-Scion collected for less than a month this year. Employees and the community are excited for the success of the food drive.
“We are more than thrilled about our success this year,” David Meraz, Street Toyota-Scion Director of Social Media said. “I believe this year we really came together as a team and decided to bring as much food as possible because times are hard for a lot of people in the community and we know that.”
Street Toyota-Scion encouraged its employees and community to bring canned goods along with other nonperishable food to donate.
“The barrels began to fill up quickly,” Sheri Stewart, Street Toyota-Scion Receptionist said. “A lot of our guests came in with bags full of food to donate. The barrels eventually became too heavy to move, but we still welcomed the food.”
This was Street Toyota-Scion’s second year to collect items for the High Plains Food Bank. The dealership collected six times more pounds of food this year than last year.
“We are very pleased with the results,” Mike Good, Street Toyota-Scion General Manager said. “Everyone here at the dealership is very generous and because of that we know that next year we will collect even more food and surpass the amount of this year.”
