OMAHA (KPTM) - Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine filed a felony charge against the woman who served two underage teens last week before they were in a deadly crash.
20-year-old Amanda Heiman is charged with providing alcohol to a Minor Resulting in Serious Injury or Death.
Police say 18-year-old Jacob Dickmeyer was killed last Monday in a rollover crash near 204th and Dodge. 19-year-old Colby Burke was riding with him. He went to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police say they were speeding and alcohol was a factor in the crash.
An investigation found both were served alcohol at the Fire Barn Bar and Grill by Heiman, who knew they were underage.
Heiman could serve a maximum 5 years in prison, with a mandatory minimum 30 day sentence. The charge was increased to a felony during the last session of the Nebraska State Legislature after the 2010 death of a newlywed woman who was killed in an accident with a drunk underage driver.
