OMAHA (KPTM) - One bill introduced early in the latest session of the Nebraska Legislature could make it easier for police to ticket someone for not wearing a seat belt.
Omaha State Senator Bob Krist sponsored the bill, which would make not wearing a seat belt a primary offense, so police can pull over drivers who aren't buckled up.
The Nebraska State Patrol showed FOX 42 News the importance of wearing a seat belt Friday afternoon, by demonstrating crash test dummies, and what happens even when a crash happens at speeds as slow as 30 miles per hour.
Similar legislation has failed in the past.
