OMAHA (KPTM) - An Omaha mother has been fighting cancer for the last three years, now a group of her friends is asking for help.
Melaine Hunt fought off cervical cancer three times in three years. But doctors say this fourth diagnosis is terminal, as they look at ways to treat her.
So a group of friends is holding a benefit to help the mother of three. There's a fundraiser Saturday at Sinnott's Bar and Grill in Papillion from four to nine.
Melaine's friend, Daisy Curtis said, "People should come out because we want Mel to really focus on getting better and not be stressed out with the household bills, with helping to take care of her children she wants to make sure that they are well provided for so we want to help her out and help her focus on getting better."
One of the items being auctioned off at the benefit includes a Bob Devaney signed picture of Memorial Stadium.
If you can't make the fundraiser and would still like to donate visit any American National Bank and ask to donate to the Melaine Hunt fund.
