A 15- year-old Central High School student was robbed at gun point when walking home from his bus stop Wednesday afternoon.
Police say four thieves took Brandon Wagner's Coat and shoes.
His father, Robert Wagner, said he doesn't usually worry about his son walking home.
"You're comfortable, it's your neighborhood. But unfortunately, there's a couple bad ones that lurk around every now and then."
Wagner says Brandon gave him a description of the robbers. He was able to find them quickly only a couple blocks from the bus stop because one of the thieves was wearing the coat they stole.
Wagner says he chased them down and flagged down police already patrolling in the area of 50th and Ames.
The robbers dropped the coat and shoes. Police arrested two of them, including 18- year-old J'Marr McGowin, and another 17- year-old boy.
Two others ran off.
Wagner says his son did the right thing by handing over his items. Now, he wants the neighborhood to take action.
Wagner says he patrols the area regularly to make sure area kids are safe. "We just need more parents out here that can volunteer their time to do a patrol," Wagner said.
As for Brandon walking home in the future, Wagner says something might have to change. "That's something me and his mom will talk about and we'll figure something out until he's comfortable again."
