Social Multi-Perspective Video Adds Location-Based Recording, YouTube Integration, and Follow Features

NASHVILLE, Tenn., March 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Streamweaver – a mobile video app that allows consumers to create and share split-screen video – today announces a new version of its free iOS app, designed to make it easier than ever for people to create multi-perspective mobile video.

Through Streamweaver, those memorable times in your life – from a wedding or a birthday party, to a flash mob or that skateboard trick – can be recorded from all angles. The app ultimately combines each user's recording into one video that plays all perspectives, uncut and synchronized, at the same time and on the same screen.

Streamweaver 2.0 introduces location-based recording, which simplifies the process of recording with your friends in real time. Now, if you're standing near your friends, up to four simultaneous recordings will be automatically combined into a single, split-screen video, without having to send an invitation to connect first.

The new version of the app also includes YouTube integration and an asynchronous follow-based model that lets users follow anyone they value, from friends and family to celebrities, brands or any other user. Additionally, Streamweaver 2.0 features a new web experience to help users more easily discover, view and share content outside of the mobile app.

Other notable Streamweaver 2.0 features include:

  • A bottom navigation menu for improved ease-of-use
  • A global video feed for discovering new content from friends and others around the U.S.
  • Expanded user profiles that highlight bio information, videos, interactions and follow connections, editable in the app or on the web
  • New explore section with user and hashtag search to help people find videos or other users relevant to them and their interests
  • An interactions center to highlight social activity including comments, likes and mentions for each user within the app

"We know that every second counts when you're trying to capture the perfect moment. Whether you're at a concert, surprise birthday or doing a funny prank, Streamweaver 2.0's new interface allows you to record with your friends automatically based on proximity, ensuring that your important moment in time is captured quickly," said Jay Hake, chief operating officer at Streamweaver. "We've watched our growing user base closely and built a new version of the app that provides an opportunity to continue to create new and exciting video experiences, wherever they're located. We've given our users a truly social mobile video experience by allowing them to share and create their video memories simultaneously, and from unique and multiple angles."

Streamweaver 2.0 is now available on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices running iOS 6.0 or higher.  Streamweaver can be downloaded for free from the App Store. For more information, visit Streamweaver.com.
