WEST OMAHA (KPTM) – The Douglas County Sheriff's office says they have arrested Travis Feldhacker for breaking into cars in Omaha. They say he stole checks and other financial information. They say he hit three different neighborhoods in West Omaha with the most recent theft occurring Tuesday, April 16 near 144th and Blondo.

The other two thefts occurred in March one near 190th and Q and the other near Harrison and 168th street.

He has been charged with three counts of theft and two counts of forgery. Police say once he stole the checks out of the vehicles he attempted to cash the checks at banks. Police did provide Fox 42 News with surveillance video of Feldhacker attempting to cash the checks.

Other documents taken during the theft include cash, tax information and credit cards.

Chris Scott had his tax information stolen out of his car after he tells Fox 42 News he left his vehicle unlocked overnight.

"Clearly going forward we will have to keep doors locked and one eye open," he said.
