Breaking News: Shots Fired In North Omaha

OMAHA (KPTM) - Police are investigating a shooting Monday evening.

UPDATE: Officers say it happened just after 8:00pm near 36th Avenue and Pratt.

Lt. Mark Matuza said police were near the scene responding to a different call.  He said police heard the shots, and drove toward the scene.

He said when officers arrived on the scene, people in two cars were in a "chaotic gun battle."

According to Matuza, the gunshot victim flagged police down near 30th and Spencer. The victim was taken to Creighton in critical condition.

Neighbors said they heard 8 to 10 gun shots. 

Police are still looking for suspects, and anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (402)444-STOP (7867).
