Task Force Created to Probe if Murders are Related

UPDATE: Omaha Police have created a task force to see if the Brumback's deaths are related to two murders in Dundee in 2008. 11-year-old Thomas Hunter and his family's housekeeper Shirlee Sherman. Hunter's father was worked with Roger  Brumback.

OMAHA (KPTM) - The Omaha Police Department has identified two people found dead in a home near 114th and Shirley Monday morning.

The Omaha Police Department confirms it is investigating this case as a double homicide.

Police say Roger and Mary Brumback were found deceased in the home after they were called for a well-being check.

Roger Brumback was a professor at Creighton Medical School. The university website shows he is a pathologist and a former chair of the Pathology Department.

A neighbor told FOX 42 News the couple had recently sold the house and were about to move away.

Police have not said how the Brumbacks died, but homicide investigators were at the home all day.

Roger Brumback has several published studies and authored a dozen books, including one with Mary Brumback.
