OMAHA (KPTM) - Just in time for Father's Day, a dad-son duo hope to lift the Indiana Hoosiers to a national title at this year's College World Series.
Casey and Tracy Smith are the ultimate combination in this tournament and together they're living a dream most coaches and athletes never get to experience.
""It's awesome and it's cool," stated Indiana outfielder Casey Smith. "He yells at me so much more than everyone else, too."
"Just a regular Father's Day is so much to be thankful for, but to be sharing it in Omaha is a dream come true," added Indiana Head Coach Tracy Smith.
They don't want this experience to end either. The Smiths are so focused on winning a national title Father's Day is almost secondary to baseball.
"We're not here to celebrate Father's Day and we're not here just to show up," said Tracy Smith.
"Actually, I almost forgot about Father's Day," added Casey Smith.
Of course, that doesn't make today any less important for the family.
"We'll do something special," said Casey Smith. "All of my brothers are here and it's pretty nice."
You can watch the Smiths continue their pursuit of a national championship Monday night. They'll play against Mississippi State at 7 P.M.
