OMAHA (KPTM) – People who work in the area of 10th and Jones Street told Fox 42 News they are tired of dealing with the mess. There are potholes, exposed brick and cement all mixed together for one uneven street.
Brian Smith is worried about driving down the street.
"It is hazardous in some respects because of the unevenness of the street," Smith said, "for motorcycles, for truck drivers, even for somebody who happens to make the wrong turn down the street. It's a pretty jolting experience.
David Thompson is worried about the lack of sidewalks in the area. He said there isn't even room to walk. He even had his company call the city about fixing the street but still no construction has been completed.
"Slow is the way to go," he said.
Fox 42 News tried to reach out to city officials on Thursday, but there was no word on when Jones Street would be repaired.
The city did announce a 6.4 million dollar street rebuilding project throughout Omaha. However, 10th to 13th and Jones Streets is not on the list of projects to be completed.
