Plattsmouth (KPTM) – Sport skydivers from all over the country are raising money for the American Cancer Society at the Plattsmouth Municipal Airport.
Organizers estimate about 550 people will collectively jump 2,200 times before Sunday when the Redemption Skydiving Boogie ends.
They say for each tandem dive they donate $15 to the American Cancer Society usually totaling around $3,500 and $4,000.
Pilots are taking skydivers to about 13,000 feet for them to jump. That allows about 60 seconds of free fall before pulling the parachute cord.
Skydivers reach about 120 to 130 miles per hour.
The boogie is accepting walk-ins. It costs $250 to tandem dive, and $22 if you have equipment and need to pay fair onto the airplane.
