Omaha (KPTM) – A south Omaha woman says dead and broken branches still have not been cleaned up after the powerful June 24th storm.

Candy Boylan says a broken branch is hanging over a street light power line on 21st and Oak streets.

A large tree in front of her home also landed in her side yard during the June storm.

"It took out my basement window, there were branches in my living room, and it blew out my screen on top - took my gutter down," Boylan said.

She says city workers came and took care of that tree quickly, but that there standing trees that need to be taken care of.

"At least make it so it's not so dangerous, said Boylan.

"Kids!  A lot of kids ride their bikes here.  I mow my lawn; that branch could have hit me on the head and killed me."

Boylan says she has contacted the city and when she spoke with people at the Omaha Public Power District, the told her they would take care of dangling limb.

She says Wednesday her district councilman, Gerry Gernandt called her and said he would take care of the problem.

Until everything is cleaned up, Boylan says she is hesitant to put up the rest of her chain link fence around her property.

"Now I'm embarrassed to even go into the yard. So I don't even go out there…except to pick up these damn things."
