OMAHA (KPTM) - Douglas County investigators shut down the intersection of 168th and Fort Street Wednesday morning, where an Omaha woman was found shot to death early in the morning.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is investigating the case as a homicide.
Family members say Andrea Kruger was murdered in a carjacking.
"I saw the sheriff's car and the ambulance and I thought something is happening," said Nabil Malik. Malik said he had a front row view to the crime scene Wednesday morning. "It's very creepy."
"We didn't know who or what it was, it was a little bit frightening at first," said Michael Riddle. Riddle said he was taking his two sons to football practice early Wednesday morning.
Riddle said when he backed out his driveway, he saw police and something in the street.
"(Police) Kind of put a barricade around the body, at first they didn't realize what it was,"said Riddle.
Investigators are looking for suspects in Kruger's gold 2012 Chevrolet Traverse, Nebraska license plates RWA 637.
