LINCOLN (KPTM) - Fall camp is over, which means preparation is now in full swing as the Huskers get ready to take on Wyoming in its season opener this weekend.
How does Coach Bo Pelini plan on beating the Cowboys?
"Score more points than they do," joked Pelini.
When Big Red takes to the field Saturday night, its challenge will be to commit zero turnovers; a task that hurt them late last year against teams like Wisconsin and Georgia.
"I want them to understand that if there is a mistake it better be done going 100 miles per hour," said Pelini.
Senior quarterback Taylor Martinez will also be expected to protect the ball. Early indications from Coach Pelini suggest he's not too worried about it.
"He has a tremendous work ethic and a great focus to him, which has allowed him to grow and that's what you want to see."
It's a good sign for the Huskers as it gets ready to pursue a Big Ten title.
"It doesn't really matter about your stats or who you get the ball to as long as you're making plays and just going out there and putting points on the board," said Martinez.
Another good sign for Nebraska is its latest injury report. Coach Pelini says there's only one player that's listed as doubtful going into the week one opener.
Saturday's kickoff is slated for 7 P.M.
