OMAHA (KPTM)-"There is a lot of construction going on 72nd and 84th
and it's not very appealing, I'll be honest," said Tom Kupfer of Omaha while at a standstill in traffic on 84th street near Harrison.
It's all part of major road construction projects throughout the Omaha Metro.
Auto Repair shops are cashing in on the combination of excessive heat and major traffic jams due to the construction.
"We've had a lot of A/C calls. I did two Friday," Said Jody Krug of Jody's Collision and Auto Repair in South Omaha.
Krug advises motorists to stay on top of their vehicle's engine as a result of the stop and go traffic in the heat. "It's a good idea to get the A/C serviced and get the radiator serviced. A lot of times the radiator gets clogged because of the dirt and it doesn't get the proper air flow and it tends to overheat
of you are not going down the road."
Krug adds another reason to keep a vehicle running well is the safety factor. Cars are breaking down, stranding motorists because of overheating.
