Omaha (KPTM) – Construction on an Abide Network home that was almost demolished by the city beat its end of the month deadline.
Abide Network renovates homes with the help of volunteers to provide housing for low income families.
The city wanted to demolish a house south of Ames and 36th streets but Abide Network won out a lawsuit opposing the measure. The organization was held to a deadline requiring that the house meet inspection by the end of the month.
A young married couple moved into the house Thursday, three days before the required date.
