SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The exhibition, 'Preview in Seoul 2013 (PIS)' hosted by Korea Federation of Textile Industry opened on September 4 at Hall B, 1F, COEX in Samsung-dong, Seoul, Korea.
PIS continued from the 4th to the 6 of September with 410 booths and 251 participating companies. PIS has been showing new textile materials for the future growth engines and creating opportunities for discussions between business partners; so that the exhibition's importance is growing.
The exhibition focused on introducing various and differentiated functional and eco-friendly textiles, as well as patented materials. Many submitted products satisfied functionality, eco-friendliness, and reinforced fashion characteristics. Moreover, despite the worsening global recession, the exhibition's competitiveness increases. That explains the participation of 69 famous textile companies from 10 nations to enter in Korean market.
The federation's managing director stated, "This year's PIS will show various leading materials of textile business." "We will find realistic measures to hold the leadership based on these materials in the future textile business," he added.
Festival of New Outdoor, SPA and Luxury Materials!
Functional materials including moisture proof laminating materials, heat insulation, high-density thin fabrics, and UV blocking materials were amplified in this exhibition.
Seo Jin Textile, Ja In Textile, YMK, Shin Heung and Young Textile led the trend with their memory materials using NP Conjugated Filament. For eco-textiles, companies tried to enter the global market by materials with international certifications, reflecting the strengthening environmental regulation. Not only organic material companies but also functional fabric companies were active to reinforce their marketing through eco-friendliness certifications.
Also, various recent hit fashion materials were introduced. Various post-processed fabrics were among them.
The competitiveness of international participants was reinforced, too. Austria's Lenzing mainly introducing its eco-friendly new materials participated in the exhibition for three consecutive years. Everest, a Taiwanese company specialized for overall functional textiles, and Toyobo Japan, a leader in the development of new synthetic composite material, participated for the first time.
41 Chinese textile companies including JIANGSU HENGLI CHEMICAL FIBER participated to enter into Korean market. Various companies from Turkey, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, etc. showed embroidery fabrics to outdoor functional materials, and demonstrated their price competitiveness as well the quality and technology.
Additional Events to See, Hear and Feel
"Trend Forum Hall" showing participants' various materials and the newest trends suggested buyers the possibilities in using various materials, and is reinforced its index and visual functions through: composing patent materials, collaboration (material company + designer), fashion products, and Small Order Zone.
Small Order Zone was established for small quantity orders with low pricing to provide buyers opportunities to use various products.
On September 4, Anticipated Material Companies' New Material Development Trend Presentation was held with four companies: Seong Min Industries, Seo Jin Textile, Shin Han Industries, and Shin Poong Textiles. This announced the start of the exhibition with introduction and quality evaluation event of added textiles developed considering 2014's trend.
In the day's afternoon, Seminar for FTA Utilization and Origin Verification Response was held to suggest the updated FTA trend information and action measures for the origin verification focusing on corporate cases. Further, seminars covering Korean fashion market scale survey, Korean garment industry trend and the global market's fashion trend for Chinese buyers, fashion material capability reinforcing operation case distribution, etc. was held to provide various information on the Korean fashion market scale to the more recent trend.
On September 5, a seminar was held to share the information on the trend of material development with advanced textile technology and introduce the production process direction was offered with the most recent textile technology development trend. In the same location during the afternoon, the information-sharing forum for R&D Win-Win Cooperation among major and SM companies and ICT industry was held.
In a symposium inviting fashion professional groups, PFIN offered 2014's SS Creative Trend Seminar to suggest the overall design directions for colors and fabrics in 2014's SS, while Fashion in Trend opened the five strategies to lead the outdoor fashion market with the agenda, the Challenge of Outdoor Fashion Companies.
Increase of Large Scaled Buying Office and Newly Participating Buyers
Not only luxury brands from the US and Europe, but giant fashion groups, general import & export companies, garment makers and other important buyers from Japan, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong visited.
LA located large fashion groups traded with various Korean companies to increase their purchasing volume by visiting PIS. In addition, New York located companies visited PIS to add business or to develop alternative possibilities.
Studio Paglaiai visited PIS to import Korean high quality fashion material to the mid to high pricing market in Italy. Kusilas showed a great deal of interest in eco-friendly materials and embroideries.
Material sourcing staffs at TORY BURCH Hong Kong Limited, Ralph Lauren Asia Pacific Ltd, Club Monaco US, LLC, and Coach in Hong Kong showed their willingness to purchase Korean materials.
Hengyuan (Group) from China visited to research the quality and the design competitiveness of Korean materials to launch its woman's wear brand. Fazeya Group actively discussed with Korean material companies according to the policy to use Korean materials for their renewal plan of 200 or more shops.

This year's exhibition had more than 10,000 Korean and international buyers from famous foreign brands.
