COUNCIL BLUFFS (KPTM) - A police chase in Council Bluffs ended up in someone's yard Friday morning.
It all started near Mondamin on Interstate 29. Law enforcement officials said 27-year-old Carlos Curry was in a car with Minnesota plates. They said he drove off as they tried to stop him for not wearing a seat belt.
Officials with the Iowa State Patrol said Curry drove south on Interstate 29 into Council Bluffs and averted traffic down 16th street before coming to a stop near 16th Street and 28th Avenue. Deputies said Curry threw personal belongings out of his car during the chase.
They said Curry didn't have a criminal record or any warrants out for his arrest. They believe he may have a mental condition.
Curry faces several charges including Eluding Police, Reckless Driving, Speeding and various traffic citations.
He is being held at the Harrison County Jail.
