BELLEVUE(KPTM)- It's National Cyber Security Awareness month. Do you know how safe your information is? A Conference in Bellevue this morning showed attendees just how easy it is to have your computer hacked and information stolen.
Speakers at the Cyber Security Conference at Bellevue University on Wednesday morning included Nebraska Attorney General Jon Bruning, and chief information officers from both the University of Nebraska Omaha and the Council of Better Business Bureaus.
The event concluded with a live hacking demonstration by a professor of Science and Technology at Bellevue University to demonstrate just how quickly hackers can hijack account information.
Bill O' Connell was one of the speakers at Wednesday's event. O'Connell is the Business Operations & Portfolio Management Global Security for Automatic Data Processing (ADP). "People don't realize that they have to be just as vigilant with their personal information, their financial information as they would in real life. They need to be careful about how they're connecting, where they're connecting, which devices they're using and how safe those devices are," said O'Connell.
