LINCOLN (KPTM) - A lot of questions are swirling around Nebraska football as the team returns home this weekend.
Head Coach Bo Pelini revealed Monday morning quarterback Taylor Martinez is still hurting. The Senior QB has been slowed down in recent weeks by a foot injury that dogged him once again versus Minnesota.
At Monday's press conference, Pelini told reporters he would start backup Tommy Armstrong if a game were played later that night. The announcement comes at a time when Pelini himself is on the hot seat after five years with the school.
"All I can control and all I can deal with are the teams that are on our schedule," said Pelini. "I know for the next five weeks we're going to be challenged, so we have to be ready."
"It's really frustrating because we didn't hold up like we have been," added Offensive Lineman Jeremiah Sirles. "We had way too many technique errors."
Nebraska's next game is this Saturday against Northwestern followed by showdowns against Michigan State and Michigan respectively in consecutive weeks.
