OMAHA (KPTM) - The dictionary definition of Richie Incognito's last name may be "disguise," but he's certainly not flying under the radar.
A new video released by TMZ this week shows the former Husker football player shirtless and shouting profanities inside a South Florida bar; an addition to an entire laundry list of personal trouble dating back to more than a decade ago.
"My first impression was he always had emotional issues at Nebraska," said John Bishop, a sports radio host for 1620 The Zone. "I know the coaches loved him because of his passion, but sometimes he went overboard."
In 2002, Incognito was ejected from a game against Penn State for fighting. In 2004, he was charged with three counts of assault after a fight at a party. That same year he was suspended for repeated rules violations before transferring to Oregon where he was cut. All of the above leads up to this year as the linebacker is now under investigation accused of bullying and sending racially-charged messages to Miami Dolphin teammate Jonathan Martin.
"I think the biggest problem is the way he emotes," said Bishop. "His big problem is the way he controls his emotions or doesn't control his emotions."
As for whether the ex-Husker will see the playing field ever again?
"If there's a cultural change, then you're probably not going to see Richie Incognito, but it wouldn't surprise me if he got another chance."
The NFL Player's Association says it's taking charge of the investigation. It's promising to be thorough and fair to both Incognito and Martin.
