OMAHA (KPTM) - The Douglas County Attorney's Office said an Omaha teacher was recently arrested and put on paid leave for inappropriate contact with an 14-year-old female student.

Court records show that 28-year-old Ty Warner has been charged with 3rd degree sexual assault of a child.

Records show the contact happened in November.

Warner is also charged with tampering with a witness. Warner appeared in a Douglas County courtroom Tuesday morning, and was given a bond of $25,000.

Warner was put on paid administrative leave on Nov. 25 from his position at Alpha School, an alternative school for students with behavioral or emotional conditions. He's been teaching at the school for five years. An official with the school said that Alpha School employees are subject to criminal background checks prior to commencing employment.
